Global markets fell on Friday last week (Jan. 3) as investors fretted that an escalation in Middle East tensions could dent global growth, Bloomberg reported. Wall Street closed in the red and pulled back from records on Friday after the United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike on Iraq that killed Iranian general Qassem Soleimani. The attack at the Baghdad international airport triggered fears that Iran may retaliate against Israeli and U.S. targets.
