Major stock markets in Asia were mixed on Friday after official data showed Chinese economy grew 6% yoy in Q4 2019, matching market expectations. For full 2019, the economy advanced 6.1%, the slowest pace in 29 years but remains within the government’s target of 6 to 6.5%. The Shanghai composite was nearly flat at 3,074, at around 12:10 PM China time. Also, the KOSPI index in South Korea was almost unchanged at 2,248, at around 02:10 PM Korea time. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 13 points or 0.1% to 28,870, at around 01:14 PM Hong Kong time. Japan’s Nikkei 225, however, added 98 points or 0.41% higher to 24,031, at around 02:10 PM Japan time. India’s BSE Sensex gained 108 points or 0.26% to 42,037, at around 11:17 AM India time.
