Rizieq Shihab, the supreme leader of the 212 Alumni Presidium (PA 212), used the mass gathering in the National Monument (Monas) on Monday Dec. 2, 2019, as a means of pushing for his repatriation. The Governor of Jakarta Anies Baswedan also took advantage of the event to keep the hardliners close to him. But he should be aware that associating himself with the hardliners isn’t without cost.
