Stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed mixed on Tuesday after the S&P 500 reached an all-time high overnight ahead of a week busy with corporate earnings and Federal Reserve’s monetary policy statement due Wednesday. The Shanghai Composite index slumped 26 points or 0.9%; the Hang Seng index lost 132 points or 0.5%; and the Kospi finished near the flat line. Meanwhile, the Nikkei 225 gained 107 points or 0.5%; and the S&P/ASX 200 rose 5 points or 0.1%.
