Stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed mixed on Friday, following a rebound on Wall Street overnight, as investors remain cautious ahead of US nonfarm payrolls data for September due later in the day for further clues on the Federal Reserve’s policy path. The Nikkei 225 rose 68 points or 0.3% to 21,410 and the S&P/ASX 200 gained 24 points or 0.4% to 6,517, while the Hang Seng Index slumped 339 points or 1.3% to 25,771 and the Kospi lost 11 points or 0.6% to 2,021.
