Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region closed in the green on Friday, following overnight gains in Wall Street on hopes that the prolonged trade war between the world’s two largest economies would have an end at the upcoming trade talks. Positive economic data out of the US also boost sentiment. ZTE shares jumped (+8.8%) after the new Italian government approved its use of special powers in supply deals for fifth-generation telecom services. The Shanghai Composite went up 14 points, or 0.5% to 3,000; the Nikkei 225 increased 114 points, or 0.5% to 21,200; the Hang Seng jumped 143 points, or 0.5% to 26,659; the Kospi advanced 4 points, or 0.2% to 2,009; and the Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 34 points, or 0.5% to 6,647.
