Indonesia’s gross domestic product expanded 4.2% quarter-on-quarter in the three months to June 2019, rebounding sharply from a 0.52% contraction in the previous period and matching market expectations. This was the first quarterly growth in three quarters and the strongest in a year, as private consumption picked up strongly on the back of fasting month of Ramadan and Eid-ul Fitr celebration and there was a rebound in both government spending and fixed investment.
