Broad money (M2) recorded slower growth in April 2019. M2 totaled Rp5,744.0 trillion in the reporting period, as growth decelerated to 6.2% (yoy) from 6.5% (yoy) the month earlier, weighed down by quasi-money that slumped to 6.2% (yoy) from 7.0% (yoy) in March 2019. On the other hand, faster growth of narrow money (M1) and securities other than shares offset a deeper M2 decline, accelerating respectively to 5.8% (yoy) and 31.1% (yoy) in April 2019 from 4.8% (yoy) and 23.7% (yoy) the month earlier.
