The financial condition of the state-owned postal services company PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) has ben under the spotlight in the last few days due to statements made by member of the House of Representative Rieke Dyah Pitaloka. Rieke, a politician from PDI-P—main supporter of President Jokowi, asked the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to pay attention to PT Pos Indonesia, who is experiencing a financial crisis. Rieke’s statement became viral and many parties decided to comment, most of them comparing the performance of Pos Indonesia with other modern postal service providers. Some even did not hesitate to point out that the difficulties experienced by Pos Indonesia today are the result of their own inability.
