Stocks across the Asia-Pacific region closed higher on Thursday, amid renewed optimism over trade talks ahead of a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the G-20 summit in Japan this week. The Shanghai Composite rose 0.7%, the Nikkei 225 climbed 1.2%, the Kospi gained 0.6% and the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.4%.
