The Shanghai Composite index slumped more than 5% to 2,903 Monday amid renewed concerns about trade negotiations as China’s government is considering cancelling Wednesday’s talks after US President Donald Trump threatened Sunday to raise tariffs on $200 billion-worth of Chinese goods from 10% to 25% as of Friday. Shares also fell sharply in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Australia and Indonesia.
