Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region closed mixed on Thursday, after the US Commerce Department said it had put Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei on its “Entity List”, an order that bans the company from acquiring components and technology from US firms without government approval. The Nikkei 225 finished down 126 points or 0.6% to 21063; the Kospi fell 25 points, or 1.2%, to 2068; while the Shanghai Composite index rose 17 points, or 0.6%, to 2956; the Hang Seng increased 35 points, or 0.1%, to 28304; and the S&P/ASX 200 advanced 44 points, or 0.7%, to 6328.
