The General Election Commission (KPU) completed their tally of the votes of all 34 provinces last night. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is the winner of his reelection after securing 85.6 million votes (55.5%), nearly 17 million votes more than Prabowo Subianto who collected 68.6 million votes (44.5%). The KPU’s final tally also shows PDIP as the winner of the legislative election with Gerindra and Golkar joining the Party in the Big Three. Interestingly, Jokowi was present in an iftar gathering held by the Golkar Party last night, the second largest political party in his ruling coalition.
