Prabowo Subianto, as quoted by Straits Times, told foreign press that he believes the people would take to the streets to protest the frauds committed in the election. He said, however, that he’d not encourage them to do so. His opposition group in the House of Representatives (DPR), meanwhile, pushes the Parliament to establish a special committee (Pansus) to investigate fraud allegations in the 2019 elections. In the meantime, the Chief of the National Police (POLRI) General Tito Karnavian gave a firm warning that “people power” with the aim of toppling a legitimate government amounts to treason.
