Imports to Indonesia declined by 6.58% year-on-year to US$15.10 billion in April 2019, after an upwardly revised 7% decrease in the previous month. This was the fourth straight month of drop in inbound shipments, amid continual efforts from the government to reduce purchases and help manage the country’s current account deficit. Purchases of oil and gas contracted 3.99% from a year earlier to US$2.23 billion, and those of non-oil and gas fell 7.02% to US$12.86 billion.
