In April 2017, Dahlan Iskan was found guilty of abusing his power in the release of assets of PT Panca Wira Usaha, a company owned by the East Java Provincial Government. Dahlan immediately filed for an appeal, and the Panel of Appeals granted the application. Nevertheless, the Prosecutors Office refused to accept the verdict and filed a cassation. Recently, the Supreme Court denied the cassation petition. So Dahlan Iskan remains a free man. Separately, the Supreme Court also denied the cassation petition filed by PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) and PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) who were previously deemed guilty by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) for conducting cartel practices in the motorcycle business.
