The Budget Mafia case that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) uncovered back in March 2018 left many speechless. The investigation, inquisitions, and court proceedings revealed that the parties involved in the case used the same modus operandi in as many as ten regions. They had offered regional leaders help in managing Special Allocation Funds (DAK) and Regional Incentive Funds (DID). The trials of the defendants ended almost two weeks ago. All four were found guilty of corruption but the KPK is not done yet. Last week, the KPK announced that they had developed a new investigation. Two suspects were named. This time, the case concerns the regency of Arfak Mountains in West Papua.
