In March 2018 the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)—with the approval of the President—dismissed their Secretary General one Raden Bimo Gunung Abdul Kadir. The KPK said that Bimo’s performance was not up to their expectations. To this day, however, the KPK has not yet appointed a replacement. Presently there are six candidates for the position. They were interviewed on January 7, 2019. The KPK must choose the three best candidates from the said pool, and report back to the President. The President will have the final say.
