The Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan is under the management of PT Pertamina. The Block’s transition from Total E&P to Pertamina has since been a topic of conversations. Recently there was a claim that the Mahakam Block’s oil and gas production has since experienced a steep decline under Pertamina. The Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arcandra Tahar begged to differ.
