Indonesia’s annual consumer price inflation increased to 3.16% in October of 2018 from an over-two year low of 2.88% in the previous month. Prices rose faster for: housing & utilities (2.35% vs 2.11% in September); transportation, communication & financial services (2.14% vs 1.74); foodstuff (4.38% vs 3.75%); clothing (3.52% vs 3.15%).
On the other hand, prices increased softer for: prepared food, beverages, cigarette & tobacco (4.03% vs 4.04%); education, recreation & sport (3.18% vs 3.25%), and health (3.03% vs 3.18%). Annual core inflation rose to a ten-month high of 2.94% in October from a three-month low of 2.82% in September. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.28%, after a 0.18% fall in September.
