Indonesia’s Environmental Foundation (WALHI) filed a lawsuit against the Government, this time against the Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). At the heart of the lawsuit is the Head of BKPM’s decision to grant a Production Operation Mining License (IUP-OP) to PT Emas Mineral Murni, a subsidiary of Canada-based Asiamet Resources Limited (formerly Kalimantan Gold Corporation Limited; LSE: ARS). The Company operates in the district of Beutong in the regency of Nagan Raya, Aceh. Its presence has been rejected by the inhabitants of villages around the area since 2013.
