Some 70 investors are interested in developing Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) through the public private partnerships (PPP) scheme. This project is planned to enter the auction stage end of this month.

The development of Komodo Airport requires a total investment of Rp3 trillion, consisting of Rp1.17 trillion for capital expenditure (capex) and Rp1.83 trillion for operational expenditure (opex).

Companies that have expressed interest through a Letter of Interest among them Muhibbah Engineering Berhad, GMR Group, PT Astra Infra, PT GVK Services Indonesia, SERCO Asia Pacific, Bank of Tokyo-MUFG, ITOCHU Corporation, Cardig Aero Services (CASA), BAM International, Wijaya Karya Building (WEGE), PT PGAS Solution, PT Sojitz Indonesia, Adhi Karya (ADHI), PT PP (PTPP), Waskita Karya (WSKT) and China Construction Engineering Eight Division.
