Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the tax ratio is targeted to reach 13% next year, improved from 11.6% targeted for this year, and 10.7% in 2017. The higher tax revenues would reduce deficit of budget (APBN). Tax revenue is also targeted to reach 81% this year, compared to 74% in 2014, first year of administration under President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). For this year, government targets tax revenue to reach Rp1,618.1 trillion, including customs and excise tax (Rp194.1 trillion).
