Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) is working closely with its partner NGO PKPU, which is on location in Palu, to provide emergency relief to victims of the tsunami following the 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia on September 28th.

HHRD immediately launched its Indonesia Relief Fund following the earthquake in Lombok last month to provide water, food, shelter and medical assistance through PKPU. Countries in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) have been the center of natural disasters recently and HHRD is on alert to aid where needed.

The death toll in Palu is estimated to reach 1,000 as rescue teams struggle to save those buried in under rubble. With 2.4 million affected, 48,000 displaced, and 600 hospitalized this disaster is proving to be the worst of 2018.
