Tourist arrivals in Indonesia increased by 8.44% year-on-year to 1.51 million people in August of 2018 from 1.39 million in the same month a year earlier. Bali was the main destination (572 thousand), followed by Jakarta (308 thousand) and Batam (159 thousand). Considering the first eight months of the year, tourist arrivals grew 12.3% compared to the same period a year ago to 10.58 million.
