Most stocks indexes in the Asia-Pacific region closed in the green on Thursday after news of a US proposal to renew trade talks with China. The Shanghai Composite rose 1.2% to 2687, rebounding from a 1-1/2 year low close in the previous session. The Nikkei 225 went up 1% to 22821 after machinery orders rose much faster than expected; The Hang Seng jumped 2.5% to 27014; and the Kospi added 0.1% to 2286. On the other hand, the ASX 200 lost 0.8% to 6129, mainly dragged down by banks and insurers after an ongoing inquiry into the financial sector revealed misconduct.
