The Bank of Japan (BoJ) left its key short-term interest rate unchanged at -0.1 percent at its September 2018 meeting, as widely expected. Policymakers also kept its 10-year government bond yield target around zero percent and maintained their views that the economy will continue to expand modestly supported by robust global demand, despite intensifying trade tensions.
