Asian markets were mixed in early trade on Tuesday following an escalation in trade tensions between the United States and China. On Monday (Sep. 17), the White House announced that President Donald Trump would impose 10% tariffs on US$200 billion worth of Chinese imports, effective on Sep. 24, 2018, and those duties would rise to 25% at the end of the year.
