Japan recorded a trade deficit of 231 JPY billion in July of 2018, compared to a JPY 407 billion surplus a year ago. Exports rose by 3.9% year-on-year to JPY 6747 billion, down from a 6.7% rise in June. Meantime, imports grew 14.6% year-on-year to JPY 6,979 billion, up from a 2.5% jump in June.
