Asian stock markets closed in the red on Monday after latest data showed China’s economy expanded at a slower pace in the second quarter on the back of softer global trade and the tightening of financial policy. The Shanghai Composite index fell 0.6%, the S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.4%, and the Kospi dropped 0.4%. Meanwhile, markets in Japan were closed for a holiday.
