Indonesia recorded trade deficit of US$1.5 billion in May 2018 due to strong import growth of 28.12% year-on-year. Higher import volume and price of crude oil and refined petroleum products ahead of the long Lebaran holidays contributed to the deficit. Import of oil and gas surged 57.17% year-on-year to US$2.82 billion, while export grew only by 21.47% to US$1.57 billion. To subscribe please click here
