Asian shares closed mostly higher Friday (May 11), buoyed by a rally on Wall Street after US inflation figures came in weaker than expected, easing concerns about a possible acceleration of interest rate hikes. News that a summit between the US and North Korea will take place in June also lifted sentiment.

The Nikkei 225 rose 1.2% to 22,758, the Hang Seng gained 1% 31,116, and the Kospi advanced 0.6%, to 2,477. On the other hand, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.4% to 3,163 and the S&P/ASX 200 closed near the flat line.
