Indonesia’s central bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) will release the balance of trade data later today. The BI is expecting a surplus (US$1.1 billion) shown in March 2018, after a deficit in the two months prior. BI Governor Agus Martowardojo said that the balance of trade would be positive for the first quarter (Q1) of this year. The current account deficit, Agus said, would remain at 2% over GDP. In January, Indonesia’s trade deficit was US$680 million, which later narrowed to US$120 million in February.
