Indonesia posted a trade surplus of US$1.09 billion in March of 2018, from a US$ 1.40 billion surplus a year earlier. It was the first of trade surplus in four months and the largest since October 2017. In March, exports rose 6.14% from a year earlier to US$5.58 billion, following an upwardly revised 12.04% rise in a month earlier. Imports increased 9.07% to US$14.49 billion, following a downwardly revised 24.94% rise in the prior month. Considering January to March 2018, the trade surplus was US$0.28 billion, with exports rising by 8.78% compared to the same period a year earlier to US$44.27 billion and imports increasing by 20.12% to US$43.98 billion.
