PT Central Steel Indonesia (CSI) was forced to restructure its debts in a process of Suspension of Debts Payment (PKPU) in 2016 after one of its creditor PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) filed a lawsuit at the Commercial Court at the Central Jakarta District Court. At the same time, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) began investigating the issuance of the very same credit facility. The AGO later named two of the Company’s directors as suspects. CSI failed to resolve the PKPU and ended up bankrupt. The trial of the suspects began a year after the commencement of investigation and the verdict was read recently. To subscribe please click here
