Similar to January, lending growth in February this year was weak, in line with the lack of economic activities early on in the year. Economic activity is typically slow in the first quarter (Q1), with the demand for lending starting to grow in Q2. In 2017, lending only grew 8.3%, lower than BI’s projection of 10-12%.
