Indonesia’s reference coal price (HBA) rose 5.39% month-on-month (m/m) to US$100.69 per metric tons in February 2018, from US$95.54 in January, highest position since Dec 2016. HBA reached US$100.12 per ton in May of 2012, then falling until mid of 2016. The recent high in coal prices is mainly attributed to growing demand from China.
