Hellen Katherina, executive director for Nielsen Media, said that the spending for advertising in the printed media fell 13% to Rp21.8 trillion for Jan-Sep 2017 period, from Rp25 trillion in 2013, inline with the closures of some media (newspaper, magazine, tabloid). The number of printed media are slashed by 23% to 192, from 268 media in 2013. According to survey (in 11 cities), printed media currently has 8% share of penetration with 4.5 million readers, mostly (83% readers) reading newspapers.
