Sudirman Said, former Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM), openly challenged President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s statement on the Jakarta Bay Reclamation project. Jokowi had told journalists that he never issued any permit for the Jakarta Bay Reclamation project, be it as President of the Republic or as Governor of Jakarta. But Sudirman Said begged to differ. As quoted by Kompas.com, Sudirman claimed that Jokowi, as governor of Jakarta, issued two regulations that gave way to the issuance of the reclamation permit.
