National car sales declined 10% to 87,645 units in September 2017, from 97,256 units in previous month, according data from Indonesian Automotive Association (Gaikindo). Compared to September 2016 (92,541 units), car sales declined 5.2% last month. National car sales in Jan-Sep 2017 amounted 803,757 units, up 2.7% year on year (y/y). Car sales is targeted to reach 1.1 million units by end this year, up 4% from 1.06 million units sold last year. In September, Toyota led the market with 35.9% shares. It sold 288,850 units last month. While Daihatsu followed with 144,233 units sales (17.4%), Honda 138,740 units (17.2%), Mitsubishi 81,498 units (10.14%), and Suzuki 81,051 units (10%).
