More than 27 million Indonesians lack safe water, and that 51 million lack access to improved sanitation facilities, according to water.org. Lack of access to clean water supply hit some regions in Indonesia frequently. This year, according to data from National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), more than 3.9 million people living in 2,726 villages in 715 subdistricts and 105 districts/cities in Java and Nusa Tenggara have to deal with severe drought. To address the problem, the Jokowi-JK administration initiated construction of 65 dams in the period of 2015-2019, where 29 dams are expected to be completed.To subscribe please click here
