Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia (GIAA) posted a double-digit growth in profit in April this year, said GIAA’s president director Pahala N. Mansury. In April, GIAA booked profit of US$280 million, a record high. The profit growth, Pahala said, is supported by growing passengers, rebound in average fare, and lower fuel cost. GIAA will add its international flight routes. In the first quarter (Q1) this year, GIAA suffered loss of US$99.08 million on revenues of US$909.45 million. It has cash and cash equivalent of US$548.87 million.
