State electricity firm Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has on Tuesday (June 20) launched the groundbreaking for Tulehu geothermal power plant (PLTP) with capacity of 2×10 MW located in Suli and Tulehu, Central Maluku Regency, Mauluku Province. This first PLTP in Maluku province is scheduled to commence commercial operation in 2019. Geothermal area in Tulehu has 60 MW resources for supporting Tulehu PLTP project. PT Halliburton Logging Services Indonesia will drill this project area which costs US$31 million.
