The Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo told the House of Representatives (DPR) that the Government would pull out from the deliberation of the Election Bill should the majority of the political parties continue to seek the elimination of the presidential threshold. This is an overt threat from President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s administration, and given what’s at stake, one can understand why.
