Tourist arrivals in Indonesia rose 19.2% year-on-year to 966,909 persons in April of 2017 from 811,233 persons in the same month a year earlier. Bali was the main destination (476,610), followed by Jakarta (211,131) and Batam (134,218). The government aims to attract 20 million visitors a year by 2019. In 2016, the country had 11.52 million foreign visitors.
