Singtel booked net profit of S$963 million in the fourth quarter (Q1), ended March 2017, stable in constant currency terms compared to the same period of last year. Operating revenue grew 5% to S$4.31 billion, driven by broadband, mobile data and ICT. Singtel also got strong contribution from Telkomsel, mitigating lower contributions from Airtel which is facing intense price competition in India. In the emerging markets, mobile data remained the key growth driver for the regional associates. Telkomsel’s pre-tax profit contribution rose 17% as it continued to deliver robust growth across voice, data and digital services. For full year (2016 fiscal year), Singtel booked net profit of S$3.85 billion, though operating revenue dipped 2% to S$16.71 billionm down 3% in constant currency terms. Its free cash flow rose 12% to S$3.05 billion on higher operating cashflows and distributions from associates.
