Chandra Asri Petrochemical (TPIA) booked net profit of US$107.8 million in the first quarter (Q1) of 2017, surged 181% from US$38.4 million profit in Q1 of 2016. Revenues jumped 77% to US$632.7 million from previous US$358.2 million. TPIA’s sales volume increased 37% to 554,000 tons in Q1 this year, from 405,000 tons in Q1 last year. TPIA plans to boost its production capacity for butadiene by 37% to 137,000 tons per year, debottlenecking for polypropylene production facility to 560,000 tons, and to build new polyethylene plant with capacity of 400,000 tons.
