On April 5, 2017, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Hanura politician Miryam S. Haryani a suspect of perjury. Miryam (who is supposedly a key witness in the E-KTP graft case) previously asked the court to disregard her statements in the investigation report (BAP). Miryam said that she made her statements under duress. The KPK, however, refused her account of what happened. The KPK summoned people they believe to be behind Miryam’s antics, but Miryam fought back. Last week, Miryam filed a pre-trial petition at the South Jakarta District Court, challenging the KPK’s decision to name her as a suspect.To subscribe please click here
