The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) today released that the realised investment during the first quarter (Q1) of 2017 reached Rp165.8 trillion, grew by 13.2% from Rp146.5 trillion in the corresponding period of 2016. Domestic investment jumped 36.4% to Rp68.8 trillion in the period, while foreign investment only inched up 0.94% to Rp97 trillion. Investment outside Java totalled Rp75.3 trillion or 45.4% of total investment. By country, Singapore led the investment in Indonesia (28.2%), followed by Japan (19.2%), China (8.2%), United States (8.2%), South Korea (5.8%). The Government targets this year’s investment at Rp678.8 trillion.
