Tomorrow (March 31) hardline Muslim groups will stage a rally to demand President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to dismiss Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama in view of the latter’s status as a defendant in a blasphemy case. The so-called 313 (combination of date and month) rally confirmed our prediction that those behind said groups will continue to capitalize on Ahok’s blasphemy case and use religious sentiment to erode the electability of Ahok and his running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat (Ahok-Djarot) in Jakarta’s gubernatorial race.
